Reliable fixtures of Warped Tour (and now, elder statesmen), Silverstein have a way of fitting in no matter what the musical climate.
Their set this tour was different and special because they combined their time with Beartooth and formed a configuration known as ‘Silvertooth‘. This involved the bands taking turns playing and, eventually, swapping members.
It all culminated in a final song, the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop” performed with 2 singers, 4 guitars, 2 bass and 2 drummers. Good luck finding a version of the song that sounds mightier.
Before their set, we spoke to bass player Billy Hamilton about the odd recording of ‘I Am Alive In Everything I Touch’, why The Lawrence Arms are so good, how ‘Silvertooth’ came about, vinyl, and music videos (among other things).
Hot on the heels of the release of their unhinged new album Void, Vanna embarked on a long run on the Warped Tour. We were able to catch up with a band we had been chasing for quite some time and speak to guitarist Joel Pastuszak. It was a delightful chat where we talk about the band’s evolving lineup, their ever-changing sound, their new record label, releasing an album so soon after The Few and the Far Between and other topics.
Dates kick off November 1 in Philadelphia, PA and run through December 15 in Lancaster, PA. Lending support will be Blessthefall, Defeater and Beartooth.
The Lancaster, PA rock outfit will be out in support of their fifth studio LP, Rescue & Restore (Solid State), which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 earlier this summer.
Since launching out of Manheim, PA, the industrious outfit has successfully transitioned from shake-up-the-field upstarts to one of the biggest names worldwide in the genre. On stages across the U.S. to Europe, Japan, Australia, South America and more, from renowned fests such as UK’s Download Festival to the Warped Tour, which they joined again in 2013 as a mainstage act, AUGUST BURNS RED have spent years taking their music and message directly to fans, and in the process have grown into one of the leading forces in the modern metal scene.
